In the quiet, picturesque village of Skala Kallirachis, nestled by the sea, our grandparents found a way to blend work with their love for the sea. Back in the 1950s and 1960s, they built small fishing huts along the coast, just within a four-kilometer stretch. These huts weren’t just shelters; they were a lifeline, especially during the olive harvest season. Grandfather and his neighbors would sleep there, rising with the sun to tend to the seaside olive groves.

Life was different then. Those huts were not just about the olive groves. In the evenings, the men would take their boats out, casting their nets and lines into the water. Fishing wasn't just a job; it was a means of survival and a passion. My grandfather owned two of these huts. In his youth, he’d embark on day trips, fishing not just for necessity but for the sheer joy of it.

As years passed, those humble huts saw less of the grueling work and more of the gentle tides of change. We decided to renovate them, turning them into cozy retreats. Now, these huts hold a different kind of charm. They are no longer just a testament to our grandparents' hard work but also a haven for summer and year-round holidays, where you can feel the echoes of the past while enjoying the comforts of today... two modern, seaside bungalows with the most amazing sunsets!
